
Cardiologist
Dr. Michael Turner is a native of Colfax, Louisiana. He received his pre-medical education from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He earned his medical doctorate from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans and completed a residency in internal medicine, as well as a fellowship in cardiology at LSU New Orleans and University of Alabama Birmingham.
Dr. Turner is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and cardiac CT. He spent two years in military service in the U.S. Air Force. Dr. Turner is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Council on Clinical Cardiology of the American Heart Association. He is a past president of American Heart Association of Louisiana and the ACC Governor for Louisiana 2007-2009. Dr. Turner is the medical director of Christus St. Patrick Hospital Regional Heart Center and director of the outpatient cardiac CT. He’s a member of the North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology, an organization which has recognized him for special competence in the field of cardiac pacemakers.
Dr. Turner’s special interests include: cardiac imaging implantation and follow up of cardiac pacemakers and defibrillators.
