Nikki Dugas, Credentialing Manager for Imperial Health, has earned certification from the Certification Commission of the National Association Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) as a Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS). To earn this certification, Dugas had to meet specific requirements for experience in the medical services profession and pass an exam that tested her competence and knowledge in the key areas of credentialing, privileging and primary source verification.
In her position with Imperial Health, Dugas is an integral part of the group’s credentialing team. She is responsible for maintaining compliance with regulatory and accrediting bodies; participating in the development and implementation of credentialing procedures; credentialing of physicians, allied health and other practitioners; overseeing in the development of and adherence to governance bylaws; collecting and maintaining an accurate practitioner database; and analyzing verification information.
